Mythomagic is a fast-paced strategy card game where gods, monsters, and heroes battle for control. Two players face off, drawing cards and clashing until one side runs out. Here is everything you need to play.

Setup

  • Each player builds a 60-card deck
  • Each player starts the game with 30 cards drawn from their deck
  • Shuffle your deck before you begin

How a Turn Works

  1. Both players draw one card from their deck
  2. One player is the Attacker, the other is the Defender
  3. Roles alternate every turn — if you attacked last turn, you defend this turn

Special Attacks

Before anyone reveals their card, both players must decide:

  • Use their Special Attack, or
  • Don't use it
Important: You must decide BEFORE cards are revealed. No take-backs.

Reveal and Battle

Both players reveal their cards at the same time. Then compare:

Attacker Wins

If the Attacker's Attack Points are greater than the Defender's Health:

The Attacker wins the Defender's card and keeps it.

Defender Survives

If the Defender's Health is equal to or greater than the Attack Points:

Both cards go into the center pile.

The Center Pile

When neither player wins outright, both cards go into a shared center pile.

On the next turn:

  • The Defender becomes the new Attacker
  • If they win the next battle, they collect:
    • The opponent's card
    • All cards in the center pile
Tip: The center pile can grow over several turns, making each battle worth more and more.

Special Attack Risk

Special Attacks are powerful — but if you use one and lose:

Your opponent takes your battle card AND one random card from your deck.

High risk, high reward. Use them wisely.

How to Win

You win when your opponent runs out of cards.

That's it. No life points. No complicated scoring. Last one standing wins.

Strategy Tips

  • High Attack cards = aggressive play — try to knock out defenders fast
  • High Health cards = defensive play — survive and build the center pile in your favor
  • Special Attacks are powerful but risky — losing with one active costs you an extra card
  • Timing matters — knowing when to go aggressive and when to play safe is the key to winning
Pro tip: Watch the center pile. When it's stacked high, that's when a well-timed attack can swing the entire game.
